Regular Contributors

What does a Regular Contributor do?

Joining our team of regular contributors means you will get the opportunity to publish your work (op-eds, reports, and analysis) on a monthly basis. This work can be on anything that you are interested in within the political sphere.

This opportunity will build on your analytical, research and writing skills; equipping you with a rich profile of articles which you can showcase to potential employers.

We require our contributors to publish at least one article a month. We understand that A-level and University students will have periods packed with deadlines and exams; therefore, we are flexible with our writers and will never push a hard deadline.

Applications to become a regular contributor are now closed.

Applications will reopen in August 2027.

Georgia Scarisbrick

Kings College London

I have just started my MA in National Security Studies at King’s College London after completing my BA in History and Politics. After studying politics for a few years and experiencing the difficulties of finding a voice in the space, I am so excited to join and contribute to a platform that empowers women’s’ work!

Romane Ferera

LSE

I am a Masters student at LSE studying Human Rights and Politics but I did my undergrad in International Relations at Leeds. I’m English and French and enjoy competitively swimming. I’m particularly interested in conflict resolution with a specific focus on the MENA region. I’ve specifically analysed the dynamics between how counterproductive interventions in the region have been, as well as how to go about successful negotiations with non-state actors.

Atika Abouen

University of Liverpool

I am a 3rd year chemistry undergraduate with a long standing interest in foreign policy, particularly defence and military strategy. I have followed issues like the Syrian Civil War closely for several years, and have developed a strong interest in sanctions and non state actors. I am also a polyglot, fluent in 4 languages. I enjoy approaching issues from a pragmatic and realist perspective, and look to understand the strategic considerations behind events and decisions.

Alex Scrivener

Kings College London

Alex is an MA International Development student at King’s College London, passionate about public policy and advancing women’s rights. When she’s not exploring how political developments shape everyday lives, Alex maintains an active lifestyle, working as a swim teacher and training for her upcoming marathon.

Mia Diment

University of Bristol

I'm currently studying for an MSc in International Relations at the University of Bristol, having recently graduated from the University of Southampton with a BA in Geography. I am interested in exploring international security, development, gender and global politics, and the ways in which they interact with each other. Outside of university, I enjoy sport, especially skiing, running and cheerleading, travelling and cooking!

Yunshu Yang

City of London School for Girls

Yunshu Yang is a Year 10 student hoping to study politics at university. Her interests in politics are shaped by her identity - as a first-generation immigrant, Yunshu aspires to see more representation in public-facing careers. She hopes to empower more young women from an ethnic minority background to pursue careers in law, politics, policy and public affairs, and bring opportunities to underrepresented groups. Academically, Yunshu's interests lie with the social sciences and humanities. She believes that these disciplines are central to the culture of nations across the world, and are more important than ever in the age of AI and technology.  She is currently searching for opportunities in public speaking, journalism, law and politics. Outside of academics and career aspirations, Yunshu loves creative writing, including fiction and poetry. Her biggest inspiration is Asian American author R.F Kuang, whose work she draws inspiration from.

Olivia-Mae Butterfield

University of Oxford

I’m a born and bred Yorkshire girl, and outside of academia I love jazz, vintage fashion and poetry! In my studies, I’m particularly interested in Soviet history and 1970’s Britain.

Olivia Mardling

University of Oxford

I am a second-year Philosophy, Politics and Economics (BA) student at The Queen's College, Oxford, interested in pursuing a career in policy and public affairs. I am very excited to be writing for Women in Whitehall!
