  • Explain and interpret a situation, trend, or dataset.

  • All facts must be footnoted with a full bibliography at the end.

  • General structure

    • Frame the question or phenomenon being analyzed

    • Context/background needed to understand it

    • Break down key factors or drivers

    • Interpret what the evidence shows (patterns, causes, implications)

    • Note uncertainties or alternative interpretations

    • Summarise what it means going forward

  • Inform decision-makers with a rigorous, actionable assessment of an issue and recommended options.

  • 2000+ words
