About Us
Women in Whitehall is a non-partisan political research based think tank aimed at providing young women with a platform to publish original political research, op-eds and reports free from the barriers of academic and institutional gatekeeping that usually stands in the way. Our aim is to make political research more accessible to young women, removing the overly bureaucratic processes that prevent young women from publishing insightful academic analysis on a range of topics and areas of concern.

We met during a summer internship programme at a Westminster based think-tank, where we assisted in a number of research projects and helped to collate and analyse data. During this time, we also produced our own research report.
However, we struggled to find meaningful avenues to publish our work where we could retain agency over our work and receive individual recognition for our contributions. More broadly, we have experienced a culture in academia and professional environments where, as young women, our ideas felt second-guessed and overlooked.
This experience encouraged us to set up our own platform where young women like us have the opportunity to publish their work and get involved in academia free from bureaucracy.
